Ipod - advice needed!

My ipod won't charge for me at the moment. It's alternating between the unhappy face and "very low battery, please wait".

I've had this problem in the past, but If I left it in to charge for a few hours it would come back to life. It's been charging for ages now and still no difference.

Now an icon just came up on my computer screen saying:
"A USB device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of it's hub port. You should disconnent the device.
To re-enable the port, disconnect the hardware and click reset. If you click close, the port will no longer function"

I disconnected it but it's still the same story. any body have this happen to them before?
Any advice greatly appreciated, I need my Ipod back working asap!

What kind of iPod is it? Try reset it.....hold Select & Menu (Home and Power for an iPod Touch) for about 10 seconds and it should reset itself, then let it start up again and charge it. Hope that works.

Your battery is screwed . . If you google you will find various online services that will replace your battery for cheaper than Apple. If it is less than 1 year old Apple will replace your ipod FOC.
