Invite Requests on Bebo

Don't know if anyone else has noticed this but every time I log on to bebo i half a dozen requests to join groups like
MSN Tips
Up All Night Group
Chat on MSN
1 Million Members etc etc

It's making want to cancel my account, I have reported it to bebo a few times they dont give a **** really. I noticed the my friends are getting added to the same stupid groups.
Anyone else having this problem

Yeah,but the worst is getting mail/friend invites off those fake people,the ones who have one picture,just signed up and think you look really cool,check out my cam. I report most of em,and to be fair,when i check back through my mailbox,bebo has deleted all the profiles that spammed me.

Yeah, and stuff like "Wanna see my webcam show" from Bebo mobile. Sucks so it does!

what really annoys me about bebo is that, unlike Facebook, you can't see the profile of the person who has asked you to be their friend until after you accept, and I'm brutal with remembering people I went to school with etc so I like to have a look before I accept - arrrggghhhh!!!

Im obviously a Bebo outcast, never happens to me....must realise how antisocial i am.

However, anyone knows of a "male strippers in need of some lurve" page let me know, the "im such a hot chicks on this web cam" not my bag.

I keep getting these friend invites off girls that look like super models, But they are all robots! And you see people posting on the fake profile saying "Thanks for the add hunny, who are you?" Myspace is notorious for it too...

i, in a moment of extreme ambition started a bebo on a particular holiday!

i uploaded 3 pics (no people in them) only and no info yet came back 3 weeks later to find 5/6 messages from people who had viewed my bebo and would like to get to know me more!!

me thinks its full of spammers!!

I mailed Bebo about all this. It took them 6 weeks to respond (see below)

Basically, it's an option to wait until you've reviewed a post before it appears on your page. Only activated it now, so not sure how effective it is.
I've set it to "Approve new profile comments and white boards before showing them. Review Comments From Non-Friends Only"

Hi

You can choose to review all Profile Comment and White Board postings by changing your settings under My Account - Email Preferences. This means that Comment and White Board postings will not be shown on your Profile UNTIL you have accepted them. You will be given a list of comments/white board entries to review every time you sign-in to your Bebo profile.

You will be informed of new Comment and White Board postings by email. To review postings before they are shown, please do the following:

1) Click the link in the email we sent you. You will be taken to Bebo.com.

2) Click the link 'Sign In' and then sign in using your email address or username and password. You will now see the postings.

3) Choose either 'Accept', 'Reject' or 'Decide Later' for each posting.

Note: If you choose the option 'Decide Later' you will see the screen again, next time you sign in. You will see the screen each time you sign in until you choose either 'Accept' or 'Decline'.

4) Click the 'OK' button to confirm your selection.

There's an easier way to do it- go into "edit my profile". There's an option where only people you are friends with can leave you messages. Sorts out the webcam spambots anyway!

I get hounded by those stupid groups as well. Losers.

I was a little weirded out when I got an invite for the "up all night" group.

I get up at 5am so am usually in bed for ten (doing dirty thing not sleeping:cool:) so I am not fecking up all night.

unless of course someone is up all night watching me

yep! i just kee[ declining!!

what was worse was the mail and comments being left about the webcam! however i noticed a setting in 'my account' that you can stop people that are not on your friends list leaving you comments!!

so after i turned that on.. the pending friends requests didnt bother me as much!!

A couple of weeks ago i had a few messages from my friends on bebo. except all these messages were the exact same. they said something like "hey check out this website and you can win 1000 dollars" or something like that. its almost like someone went into their accounts and sent the messages.

anyway im getting pretty sick of bebo. its gotten really crap over the last couple of years. theres too much crap on it like all those stupid applictions or those "katemodern" etc things that keep appearing on the changes page. so DOWN WITH BEBO. (careful now)

I had an a/c years ago and emailed them to suggest that they implement an option to disable videos auto-playing on people's profiles (as I'm sure anybody who uses the site knows, it's really annoying). I received the reply:

Hi *******

In answer to your query, some videos play automatically on bebo, while others do not.

They finally fixed the autoplay feature last year. Now you can turn it on or off in your own account settings.
