using windows Vista disk on another laptop

    question there i recently bought a laptop with Vista home on it ( think it cost 100euro) anyway my sister is now buying a laptop. Can i run the disc on her laptop thus saving her having to buy it. anyone know?

    The vista license can only be used on one computer so you'd have to uninstall it from the one it is currently on. Most laptops I've seen come with vista as standard and with no option to remove it and save the money so I doubt you can get the laptop without it.

    if you buy a dell online where you customise it it offers vista as an option but costs 100e :mad:

    Are you sure that isn't an upgrade to vista ultimate? Vista Home Premium or Vista Business should come as standard.
