LUAS on Track to build 3 GOAL Homes.

Luas drivers and customer care staff are today (Friday October 3rd ) not wearing their uniforms but dressing up in football and county jerseys instead in support of Irish Charity GOAL Jersey Day.

Luas operator Veolia Transport and Railway Procurement Agency donated € 10,000 to Chief Executive of GOAL, John O’ Shea. This money will build 3 LUAS houses in Uganda, housing children orphaned from HIV/ Aids and many affected by extreme poverty.

Luas Driver Derek McGuinness asked Veolia Transport and Railway Procurement Agency to support GOAL and their house building projects in Uganda.

Derek wearing the Liverpool F.C colours commenting further is “appealing to Luas passengers and public to dig deep and support GOAL’s charitable work, you can build GOAL homes for € 3,000 and help some of the world’s poorest people”.

John O’ Shea of GOAL commented that “LUAS support of Jersey Day has made a difference to the lives of children orphaned by AIDS/ HIV and provided not just housing for them but employment and education in construction training programmes in the community.”
