Hi all, looking for some advice please!

Im looking for a device that allows me to connect 2 aerial connections into 1 inlet.

To give you a better idea, I have a Sky TV out aerial going into my loft which I want to be able to join up with my loft aerial and go into the 1 distributor for all TV`s in the house.

At present Im having to join the 2 wires togeather and then plug them in, but this causes a bit of interrefence and every now and again they fall out, meaning I have to go back into the loft and plug them in again!

Im sort of look for something like a Y splitter, but instead of splitting the signal out, i want to split a signal in!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I think you might have answered your own question there. Put the two signals into the out put ports of the Y splitter and connect the remaining connector to the input of your distribution amp. You'll need to make sure the Sky boxs' RF out channels is away from any of the channels already on the system.

An alternative solution - and better - is to run the Rooftop antenna to the RF in on the Sky Box the use the RF out signal to feed the distribution amp. This works if you have easy access to run an extra cable from the attic.

^^ This is the proper solution.

The first option you suggest is very unlikely to give a satisfactory solution. You could run the two signals into an appropriate diplexer / combiner, and run the output to your distribution amp as an option but you'd want to have a clue about the channels you're using and whats coming in each side.

Run the aerial cable through the skybox and then up to your loft for distribution for the best possible solution.

Try http://www.satellite.ie/acatalog/Satellite_UHF_VHF_Cable_Combiner.html - I got these last week and installed them at the weekend and they work fine. As already suggested, I have them going into my Sky box and then going for distribution through the RF out socket. Was working fine till my distribution amp sat down...
