I'm trying to think of things to do in Galway that don't revolve round pubs, but on that note, there's a really nice little authentic trad pub called the Crane Bar, which is over the bridge, in the west side of town. Three Thumbs Up, for a different experience

Check out the thread " Things to do in Galway???" just a little further down the front page. Also have a look at Activities and Resources in Galway which was created for this very reason in G forum.

You could go to Inishmore for a romantic weekend?

Romantic things to do I guess is to walk along the river or along the promenade in Salthill. Oh and go to O'Connors in Salthill for a drink

Don't miss the national aquarium in Salthill. Feeding time in big tank is at 1 every day. Ticket is pricey at 10E but that allows you access all day.

Stand on the top of Blackrock diving tower in Salthill and admire the view of Galway Bay while having a good cuddle and kiss.

Or as we call it in Galway, a good SHIFT.
