Bounced cheque

    Man; these are getting common
    anyhow can i use the small claims for a bounced cheque? it dosen't seem clear that that is the ways to go

    The small claims court is designed to deal with primarily for consumer claims below €2,000. The vast majority of other types of actions are excluded from this procedure, including those to recover a debt. That said however, it is possible for you to seek to recover the debt in the District Court (of which the small claims court is a branch). It isn't overly complicated and you could conceivably do it yourself or alternatively employ a solicitor. Try contacting your local District Court Office, or if in Dublin, the District Court Civil Office in Dolphin House for more information.
