Ndiskio and EAPPKT Protocol Help required

    I am currently repairing a pc that has had 600+ viruses on it.
    ALL have been cleared out using 3 different scanners (Norton Anti-virus, PcTools Spyware Doctor and Ad-aware). Each one has been run multiple times with their latest virus definitions.
    System restore was turned off for the scans (fellow techies will know why). Scans were done on normal mode and safe mode a number of times too.

    Everything is fine EXCEPT that now the neighbour (who's I'm fixing) is signed up to ...yes, Eircom! :rolleyes:
    Their (Netopia) modem is working fine, all signals and lights coming on.
    However for some bizarre reason his computer is not gaining access to the net constantly.
    You could turn the pc on and it will connect, the next time you turn on it will not ..and same again with each turn on. The net will only connect once in a while.
    All necessary drivers are installed, all adapters are also correctly installed.
    No exclamation marks against any installed devices in the Device Manager at standard setting.
    However that said there is in the hidden settings of device manager marks against NDISKIO and EAPPKT Protocol - I know that NDISKIO refers to a previous (useless) "Norman" anti-virus app that is now uninstalled.
    I am lost on the other.
    Can anyone help?
    Why is the owner getting random on and off net connection?
    Anyone offer any suggestions?
