    Yep, it was awful. It was another one of those "cookie cutter" shows made by sunbow productions (the people behind The Amazing SpiderMan and Transformers). Jem was originally targeted at both girls and boys but they soon realised young lads didn't want to see a show featuring a bunch of women singing about love & romance - esp with lyrics so rubbish they wouldn't have passed quality standards for a Belgian Eurovision song contest entry.

    As a guy looking at the cartoon at the time Jem was nearly
    has Hot as Jesica Rabbit or She-Ra!

    I remember my Cousin having a Gem Doll and I was fasinated with the Knee Joints of the Legs.
    The Knee joint was internal and covered by rubber making the leg of the doll look more life like.

    Sounds weird I know......but it was technology moving forward........that and having flashing earings she would
    have made a perfect match for Lion-o from the Thundercats
    with his flashing eyes.

    OMG!! now there is a flash back....sitting on the floor in front of the TV on a sat morning waiting for GEM!

    I know this is a kinda old thread but I had to write in it..
    I loved this programme when I was a kid and had about four Jem dolls, I had Jem, her boyfriend Rik (Ithink his name was) And I had two of the misfits. (we are the misfits are songs are better) lol
    ah the 80s cartoons were the best :D
