I've been seeing my bf for over 4 years now and we've been doing anal sex on and off ever since we've been dating. We don't do it much, but now and then and so we are used to doing it. But twice out of the last three times we've done it, I've ended up with an anal fissure and they're so sore :( He hasn't been rougher and we haven't had any different positions but for some reason just since the summer I've been getting these. Can anyone tell me why or what I can do to heal them quicker? Thanks :)

You should talk to your dr, there could be a range of reasons from diet, positions to even cancer.

    Do you use lubricant?

Maybe you're just more susceptible to them, or maybe repeated anal sex has caused you to develop tears over time that flair up when you try it again.

Sometimes willy's just aren't meant to go there. It's a natural exit, so pushing something inside it rythymically on a regular basis is bound to cause friction and tears. Many people will probably come on and tell you that they do it all the time and that it's fine for them, but like regular vaginal sex, girls react differently to all kinds of positions/sex and what they find comfortable.

I would see a doctor if I were you. if the fissures are very painful/getting worse you need to get them sorted. And you'll probably need to consider whether the odd night or back door passion is worth the agony afterwards.

These can take a while to heal up completely so it's possible that you're not leaving enough time for it to heal before you have anal again. Hemhorrhoid cream/suppositories will help with the discomfort. I'd have your doc check it over too just to make sure there's not some underlying cause for this. Also, leave it a couple of months before having anal sex again to ensure that you're fully healed up.

Some of these take up to six weeks to heal. The doctor will give you cream to reduce inflammation. You also need to use a osmotic stool softener, like Laxose or Lactulose daily (Also a mild stimulant laxative like Senna if you find you're not going to the toilet every day ) to give the tear a chance to heal. However anal fissures are notorious for recurring so you may find it'll only be healed when it flares up again.
