    Have seen this reported on a few sites and forums today;
WWE will be releasing a new book in December titled "Showdowns: Top 20 Rivalries in the Past 20 Years." The book will be released in paperback only with 320 pages and is written by Jeremy Roberts, who also worked on the biographies of Batista and Eric Bischoff. Below is the cover photo for the book:

Stonecold and the Rock was a great rivalry...

i think Razor Ramon and HBKs was great. Hitman and Taker and of course Hitman and HBK.

    DX versus Vince! Great rivalry.

I think its obvious that Austin McMahon will come out on top.

Another few I think will be included.....

    HHH/Foley
    Bret Hart/ Michaels
    Michaels/HHH
    Taker/Kane
    Hardy's/E+C

austin/rock was my favourite, back when they gave the intercontinental belt respect and cut reaally good promos, up throughout their world title rivalry aswell! brilliant!

imo it wouldn't even be close, austin/mcmahon would be well ahead of the rest, it sent WWF into orbit

The only thing that made me even consider it was the HHH factor. He tends to come out on top in these sort of things. Although the guy has had some top class feuds.

Can't say i remember this being one for the books, very little chemistry and not the most memorable matches either ever had, funny ending to Summerslam '97 though, that's about the most memorable thing for me when i think of these two, and that took HBK being involved...

I think Undertaker Mankind is more likely than Undertaker Hitman ....

I wonder what present-ish day feuds they are going to put on this.

Knowing DVDs like this, half of them is going to be somewhere in the last 4-5 years.

Ugh, the feud that just wouldn't go away. That ****ing thing rumbled on for like 2 years and there were very few decent matches out of the dozens they had.

Yeah but the hell in a cell match would be enough for theat feud to be included!

HHH/FOLEY Rivalary was class...With the street fight at royal rumble and all...Thought that was really good storyline....

But obviously McMahon/Austin storyline will be miles ahead of the rest...

One match does not a great feud make. It wasn't a even match really.

that feud with foley was the making of taker, before his matches with foley in 1996 taker was a circus attraction and nothing else, foley turned him legit; prior to summer of 1996 takers matches were nearly always guaranteed to be the biggest stinkers of the night

hbk/jericho could be a contender, if it was finished!

hbk/jericho won't be there as it only really started in june

But most of the matches in the feud were pretty bad as well! I should know I sat through a 6 DVD set of their entire feud a while back, waiting in desperation for a decent match. They were all terribly mediocre I'm afraid save for a few bumps off the Cell. Thats 12 hours of my life I'm never getting back.:pac:

Top feuds so far this year

    Edge/Taker

    HBK/Jericho

kotr 96, the boiler room brawl at SS and the buried alive match later that year were all very watchable, again you have to remember the matches taker was putting on before that (before june 1996) and compare the feud with foley to those, not what he has done since

Ha ha, woops, that was a serious fail by me. :o

Has the author ever written anything else so i can get an idea of his style? If its just a page by page explanation of everything that was said and done word for word, then im not gettin it.

But if it goes into explanation right from conception through to execution and the like then i might...

But actually a companion DVD wouldn't be a half bad idea. But there would most likely be a lot of matches on it that can be found on other DVDs.

Could be true, i guess we wont know till we see a specific list of rivalries it covers.

20 years? They could have done 25 to include Hogan v Orndorff, Hogan v Andre and Savage v Steamboat, but heaven forbid that Savage gets mentioned! :(

Hogan v Andre could still make it in as they were feuding right up until Summerslam 88.

Savage v Warrior was an awesome feud for it's time. Warrior was losing steam by the time 1991 rolled around, and the shot Savage gave Warrior to the head at Rumble 91 looked so awesome (especially with the bits of the septre flying off when it hit). The whole buildup had me on the edge of my seat right up til the bell rang at the end of that match.

Hogan vs Earthquake in 1990 - I'm not joking! The amount of heel heat Earthquake had for putting Hogan on the shelf (realistically, he was off filming Suburban Commando) was unreal. And then for good measure he squished Tugboat too. Hogan dropped about 25lbs as well for the filming of the movie and he actually looked a little different that people i knew at the time were convinced it wasn't "the real Hulk Hogan". That rumour seemed to come and go with various wrestlers in the early 90s. It was a feud that lasted the guts of a year too as it would finally end at the 1991 Royal Rumble when Hogan dumped Earthquake out.

Jake vs Rick Martel. The feud involved in this was actually really good, with Martel blinding Roberts with the cologne and the weeks of taunting him. Unfortunately the matches that came out of it were bloody awful, namely Survivor Series 1990 where Jake wore the plain white contact lens, and that horrid blindfold match at Wrestlemania VII

Hogan vs Savage. This was on and off for most of 1989-1990. Everyone knows the Mania V match, then there was also Summerslam 89 and The Main Event in 1990, No Holds Barred - The Match (best left unmentioned though). I know Vince hates Poffo with a passion, but that shouldn't get in the way of a good book. Absolutely awesome feud.

Bret Hart vs Jerry Lawler. Another great on/off feud starting off at the 1993 King of the Ring and finally ending for good at the 1995 King Of The Ring where Bret, after nearly two years is actually witnessed getting a victory over Lawler.

Just a few that spring to mind for me.

Is that round the same time they had the "Kiss My Feet" match?! That was a good feud!! I may have been about 6 or 7 but I think Lawler did promos showing him putting his feet in manure and then bragging about how Bret would have to kiss his feet! Am I right?! Or WAY off?:pac:

Can't remember if he put it in manure, but he definitely definitely didn't wash it for the month leading up to the match. It was the match Bret FINALLY won to end the feud once and for all, and then for good measure, he made Lawler eat his own foot.
