Hi, I'm trying to decide between an Asus 901 and the Dell Mini.
Both around around the same price for the XP spec (Elara and Dell IE Online)
Keyboard size isnt a massive issue for me.
Is there any other reason to pick the Dell over the eee901?
At the moment the battery life is swinging me towards the eeePC.

    Any input much appreciated.

I'm in a similar situation to you, but I was considering the MSI Wind as an alternative. From some of the reviews I've read, the build quality of the Mini 9 is supposed to be top notch. There are two things putting me off the Inspiron: the lack of an extended battery and the smallish SSD - I'd much prefer a conventional HDD. Sorry, haven't read much about the Asus 901 though...

I am using the 901 right in front of me and I cannot fault it.

It is stylish, keyboard takes getting used to (As with the Dell) and is excellent on batteries. Both the 901 & Dell Mini have the same chip and probably the same main board as they are almost identical in components.

SSD hds will take more abuse than mechanical HDDS but don't have the capacity. I prefere to have less space and have less chance of loosing stuff. The Windows version 901 comes with 4GB "master" an 8GB "slave" I would recommend just keeping the 4GB Master just for the opperating system as it gets full in no time.
