The F connectors that go on the cable from the dish are the same on both ends correct. Just that I heard talk on the forums about male and female so just wanted to make sure that the connections on both ends (LNB and Box) of the cable are the same. So one bag of F connectors will do the job and no F Barrel required ?

Satellite wall plates tend to have F-connector sockets on them. My cabling terminates in PAL connectors on the sockets. Am I in trouble if I try to use these for satellite, or can I just bung an adapter on?

;I presume you mean standard coaxial (Belling Lee) female sockets?

If so, I personaly would suggest you don't use them. Buy replacement F-type screened wallplates.

Or simply remove the cable from the back of the wall plate, unscrew the back of the plate leaving just the plastic plate with a hole in the middle. Terminate cable coming from wall with f connector. Use a f barrel (joiner) and attach f fly lead to that. Best connection and cheapest. You can use the little nuts and washer that should come with f barrel to secure it to wall plate if you wish.

By "plastic plate" I assume you mean "really f**king expensive brushed-chrome custom-order plate that MrsBeerNut insisted on".

I reckon this is what I'll do. Nice to know it's at least theoretically possible. Thanks.

Well, if they're to-order chrome plates, then yes, it'd be fair bit cheaper to take Rippy's option! :)
