Pity the train isn't running like other years! Definitely go to the hall afterwards, great buzz and u get a cup of tea. One of the nicest runs I've done for friendliness and atmosphere.

I'm hoping to do this too. I've a 2:40 run to do this weekend so if I tack a bit on the end I should be fine. We live at mile 13 on the course so I'm hoping to cycle in to the start, run the race, run the long way home to make up the extra time. I'm happy to drop some people back to Cork city when I drive in to pick up bike. Would probably be 12:30 before I head back in though.

Hunnymonster, you’re training program is giving me a major inferiority complex;)

I too have signed up for this event doesn’t know whether to run or do a 22 miles this weekend my first 22 miler. Could be good for confidence to do it for the marathon

    Opinions welcome

Details of the replacement bus service is availble here...
    http://www.iarnrodeireann.ie/images/upload/news/350.pdf

Trains suspended until November for upgrade works.

I am sure there will be people getting lifts from girlfriends/wives/husbands etc, so keep eyes peeled for empty cars and sweaty passengers!

Good luck to all doing the run.
I'll be cheering yee on and photographing yee along the way.

Dont forget to check out http://corkrunning.blogspot.com for up to the minute previews (weather) and post race reviews.

(I am not affiliated with any of the above web sites - just an interested and concerned runner....)

Hunnymonster, Are you a Cobhite? I must try and head for a training run/spin with you the next time I'm back at the ancestoral homeland :)

    Enduro,

Despite having done no running in 4 weeks (and my longest distance to date is 13 mile) I'm going to give it a go - worst case I'll walk it (or jump onto hunnymonster's shoulders for 14 miles....and sprint the last one...

I ran this race a few years ago and if any of you are thinking of doing it then go for it. IMHO it is worth a 18/20 ml LSR for those of you traing for the Dublin Marathon.

What a day for the run today - sunny, no wind and not too warm....superb....

My longest run to date and did it in 2:01 which I was thrilled with (until I heard that some 74 year old women did it much quicker than me..:o

Well done to the organisers on a great great event

    Morning!

Im still buzzing after yesterday's Cork-Cobh. I was aiming for 9min mile, was taking in to consideration the hills. That would have put me at 2hr15min. was even thinking Id be slightly slower but kept going. Was ecstatic to cross the finish line at 2:07:43!! That works out at 8.5min/mile (or 8.51444 if Im being v.exact).

For anyone who hasn't done this run, I would strongly urge you to pencil it in for next year. The route is tough enough, the runners are lovely and friendly, the scenery is amazing and it makes for a fabulous day. The "little" walk up the "little" hill to the scout hall after nearly killed me but the thought of a mug of tea kept me going.

Fabulous day out, well done to all the organisers and helpers.

    Well done MaireC.

I did this run a few years back and thourougly enjoyed it. I can't remember my time but I wouldn't be able to keep up that pace. I sense a good marathon coming up!!

what a great day for a run. First time running this and will recommend it to anyone training for a marathon. Did a great time too so it proves that all the long training runs are paying off. Hope Dublin goes aswell.
thanks to everyone involved in this race and the stewards who gave up their Sunday morning.
