Adjusting forks?????

    Hi everybody,:)
    just wondering can any1 help me withe this.I recently bought a 2nd hand Carrera Kraken,it rides grand for what i use it for ie.commuting and a cycle on the wkends when I can.
    So heres the problem,,the front forks suspension (sr suntour xc 60) are rigid stiff???i have no manual or anything like that and I wouldnt be familier with suspensions atall,the guy i bought it from has gone travelling so i cnt even ask him but i can tell he tried to adjust them from the plier marks on the left and right dials.
    So any advice on which way to adjust the dials and give me a bit of a softer ride would b great :)
