+1, and I'm surprised Stacey and Bradley won the best couple award, they're always miserable.

I wouldn't have given the award for best dressed to Kym Marsh either.

Soap wars exploded last night as EastEnders hammered its rivals to be crowned the nation’s favourite show.

Pretty Lacey Turner led a Walford invasion at the Inside Soap Awards, walking away with three gongs, including Best Actress.

The show bagged nine of the top prizes, leaving their rivals fuming. Hollyoaks got just one award – Best Young Actor for eight-year-old Ellis Hollins – despite dominating at the British Soap Awards in May.

Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard) picked up Emmerdale’s only gong for “outstanding achievement”. And an Emmerdale actor stormed: “We have had some of the best storylines we’ve ever had this year and we don’t get the recognition. The cot death story and even our domestic abuse one were amazing. Yet again, we’ve been overlooked.”

But Chris, 60, was glad the soap did end up empty-handed. He said: “It’s disappointing but at least we got one. That’s good enough. I have to thank everyone for voting for me.”

A Hollyoaks babe fumed: “We thought after our success at the British Soap Awards that we had put Hollyoaks on the map. Clearly we were wrong and it’s heartbreaking.”

And frustrated Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe, 24, added: “It’s disappointing because we all work so hard and we deserve it, but I guess every soap has their day and we’re just waiting for ours.”

Lacey, 20, who plays Stacey Branning in the BBC’s flagship show, and soap husband Charlie Clements, 21, (Bradley Branning) picked up Best Couple for the third year.

And Stacey’s affair with Bradley’s dad Max, won Best Storyline of the year. Lacey said: “I am so chuffed to get this, it’s been a very busy 12 months for me and this makes it all worth it.”

Gorgeous Rita Simons, 31, picked up Best Newcomer as Roxy Slater. While her EastEnders husband, Rob Kazinsky, 24 (Sean Slater) got Best Actor and Sexiest Male. Rob, who leaves at the end of the year, said: “I have to thank my mum and dad for getting drunk and creating me!

“It’s their fault I won sexiest male. I also want to say in your face Rob James-Collier (Liam in Corrie), you may have won sexiest male 10 times but this is the one that counts!”

Cheryl Fergison, 44, got Funniest Performance for playing Heather Trott. While Kara Tointon, 25, (Dawn Swann) saw off Emmerdale’s Roxanne Pallett, 25, and Hollyoaks Jennifer Metcalfe to be crowned Sexiest Female for the second year running.

She said: “I can’t believe it. I would like to thank everyone who has voted for me.”

She said will use her new award to try and bag herself a fella. She has not dated anyone since splitting with former co-star James Alexandrou, 23, last year.

Kara added: “I’m single and I am loving it. I don’t get chatted up a lot but don’t know if that’s because I am in EastEnders.”

Corrie kept its reputation as the home of the bad boy for the fourth year in a row, with Jack P Shepherd, 20, scooping the award for his calculating evil doings as David Platt.

Bad girl Alison King, 35, got her claws out, beating off her rivals Jennifer Metcalfe, (Mercedes McQueen) to win Best Bitch for her role as cunning Carla Connor. Kym Marsh, 32, was named Best Dressed Soap Star.

As stated previously Eastenders didnt deserve all the awards

What a load of me a**e. She has a face like a bulldog lickin' pi*s off a nettle and the only awards she should get are "The most worn greyhound shirts in Soap" and "The biggest noticeable boob job in Soap" !!!!
