What file storage methods are you using for audio files and projects?

I use the internal HDD on my PC while working projects and back them up onto an external firewire drive every now and then. Probably not as often as I should. I'm now about to go laptop based and want a faster and larger drive than is in my lappy for working on. So I think I'll get another firewire drive for the laptop as well as the one kept in a secure place at home for long term back ups.

Anyone here using 2 HDD's to back up files? I think I might decide too.

I'd also be interested in hearing from anyone who is working on both a laptop and desktop on the same projects and how they are handling file sharing.

Remember when we used to lay tracks down onto tape? Wasn't it all so much simpler?!

You know the 'If it isn't stored in at least 2 places at the same time it doesn't exist' adage .....?

    Ain't that the truth :)

Frob, I'm doing the same as you at the moment. Laptop drive and external drive.
I'll be hooking the external up to the iMac when it arrives and using Time Machine to back up automatically whenever the machine's used. I'll probably upgrade the Macbook to Leopard in order to use Time Machine for that too, on a less frequent basis.

Thinking of getting a second external drive that will be a replica of the first, for additional redundancy.
