And while I,m in a mood for a rant heres some more good ideas that somehow got buried over the years:

*I seem to remember a viewing platform was mooted for the top of the Shearton...................
*At one stage a new pedestrian bridge accross the Shannon.........
*A new pedestrian bridge at the end of Talbot Ave...........
*Some years ago a viewing platform where the old eelhouse was to have been provided by the ESB
*The Millenium Fountain(dont get me started)was to have been moved to a more appropiate place.
*The old station converted to a museum

And thats just the top of my head.

Yeah we had talk of such things as..
A multistorey carpark in the town
Fast food places next to the Cinema
    Shuttle bus to the cinema
These usually come up again around election time

Direct Ryanair flights Oslo(Torp)(TRP) to Athlone(Abbeyshrule)(ASH).
Irish Navy submarine base at No.1.

It must be 20 years ago since a London publican gave me an ambitious plan,
designed by his head barman, for the Athlone Metro. Typically not a sod has been turned since.
