Do you leave a bike at a station? Docklands?

I thinking of leaving a old bike at the Docklands station on the days I'm not up to the full commute rather than use the car. Anyone do similar? Is it feasible at that station?

There is a bike rack under the archways (essentially under Sheriff St).

I suggest talking to the staff in the station who will explain the opening times of the second entrance to the station as it is that entrance that will be the vulnerability.

I think there's a bike rack on Connolly == much safer. If you leave your bike under the station at Docklands -- I'd wager a bet its won't be ridable in the morning..... but would make a great work of art -- twisted metal and all.

I was wondering about the security of it. Train doesn't go to Connolly. It would only be 2 or 3 times a week. I beginning to wonder would it be worth the hassle.

Is the Connolly bike rack downstairs where the Luas terminates?
If so, that place is a creepy place, with a lot of serious drunks hanging out.

Again, ask the Docklands staff. Maybe have the bike insured and if it gets trashed you get another one and change where you leave the bike.

BTW, where are you heading to afterwards? East Point Business Park - it's a 25 min walk, or 11 min run.

I head over to D.4 I could get a train all the way, but it means standing for an hour or longer usually in a overcrowded train. Which is something I want to avoid. I can get the docklands train and then walk but it takes a while and if I could cycle it far quicker obviously. I'm hoping to cut the time down. Docklands (not the station) said theres a few racks within the docklands streets themselves. They are probably safer alright.

Its only an idea I'm playing with. Took 20mins just to get out of my estate in the car yesterday. I would have cycled only I've an injury at the moment and think my usual 40/50min cycle wouldn't help it. Took me 1.20 to get home in the car.

Seeing a lot of foldups around now. That might be another option. Cycle to and from train.

It was I who insisted on those stands. :) I suspect where they are is safe enough, especially if its an old bike.
