    I have entered this race for this Sunday 5th October. I have heard a few good reports from different people. Anyone else doing it or have done it before?

    I entered last year and enjoyed it and am looking forward to doing it again on Sunday.

    I thought it was well organised. Some roads were closed and the Gardai and officials did a good job of marshalling the race over the roads that weren't fully closed.

    Energy drinks and crisps were available at the end of the race.

    Times were up on the site after a day or two.

    I seem to remember a figure of 400 for the number of entrants last year. It certainly seemed like it.

    At the moment, the forecast for Sunday is Partly Cloudy with a 20% chance of precipitation.

    Regards,

    Liam

    Gonna enter this, even though I'm slow as hell and will be near the very back of the pack.

    Where exactly is the changing area for it? On the site it is listed as Our Lady's, and on the flyer it's listed as Terenure College.

    Registration, changing facilities and refreshments will be at Terenure College.

    More details in a separate thread I have set up.

    Just down the road from me so will have a run in this I reckon; Only really getting into running now; What is a good time for this distance?

    Does anyone know the course? It does not seem to be working from the website;

    Not sure what time to aim for; Should be able to get in in about 22-24 though;

    Think I'm gonna do this too.

    The course was working fine yesterday, so unless they changed it. As of yesterday it was

    Starting just before Rathfarnham Shopping Centre, beside Bushy Park, down as far as Rathfarnham Road, up the Hill into Terenure, left at the Garage, and then up as far as Terenure College.

    Think they said they would be closing off the roads, and are expecting in the region of 500 runners, with 500 goody bags, so ye wouldn't want to be coming in the last few spots:o

    Great race this morning, and a beautiful day for it. Finished in 30.24 (by my own watch) which shocked me because I didn't know until today that I was capable of running 10 minute miles!

    Good race this morning my road race inexperience showed when I set off far too fast and passed the 1st mile at 6.15; Probably a bit too quick and then had a bad middle mile; Finished in 20:30 so happy enough

    Yeah it was well organised and a very high standard, my only problem was the start, It was a bit congested and slow to get going because of people lining up in the wrong place, ideal conditions 21:17 for me, well pleased, and a nice break from marathon training. And what a great bag

    Great day for a race and well organised too. They had mile markers as well as KM, which made it easier to keep track of times. 22.49 by my watch which is a PB for me.

    Wow, looks like we got almost the same time! I'm not sure exactly, but I think I got 22:50 (which knocks almost 1:30 off my PB)! You may have been one of the people that I used as a pacemaker / wind shield for the race! ;)

    I have to agree with everything said above anyway. Great course - felt like I was running downhill the whole time! Great weather. Great atmosphere and a great number of people. I also liked how they showed the video of the race afterwards.

    Saw a guy try to overtake a guy in a car afyer the race,he ended up throwing a bottle at the other car and after this the runner left his car to confront this sumbag who then tryed to reverse into him.
    absolute disgrace.If anyone knows the runner i have the car reg and would be willing to act as a witness.
    couldn't believe my eyes what i saw.

    There was a great turnout today with 524 finishers. The results should be on the club website tonight but if you can't wait, here is the current list. There are possibly two mismatches between time and race number (a couple of runners went through the finish line but then didn't carry on through the chute to have numbers recorded) so we will be going through the race video in detail to try to resolve these.

    Results file is in pdf and is 43kb.

    Pretty good field you had there, I presume it was tight at the end between Campbell and Christie? Campbell's in great form at the moment, shame he got injured early season.

    I saw the finish. Christie broke away from the lead group with 1k to go. Cambell went with him and took him in the sprint--passing him inside the last 50m. James Thie from Wales in 4th wasthe pre-race favourite apparently.

    David Campbell is having something of a purple patch at the moment. He had a season's best over 800m about two weeks ago, then was a close 2nd on Saturday in the 1 mile race in the North East before winning yesterday. Good stuff. Pity the earlier part of the summer didn't work out for him.

    Looks like we finished only 1 second appart according to the official results.
    You never think that you might be racing the final few meters against someone on here. Well done anyway.
