about the lives of people on here who seem to be on almost 24 hours a day?

    I do.

Thousands of posts, instant responses, on every single day. With that level of activity there cant be too much going on elsewhere in their lives.

Sad or just a different form of socialising?

None of the above, I think. I consider going on Boards and posting the odd time to be a distraction akin to watching television or a film rather than any kind of actual social interaction.

I doubt most people come on with the idea of socialising. Mainly work, boredom or research I think.

    Screw you office overlords.

Stick me in a cubicle so I don't have the "distraction" of people to talk to, will you?

Guess you'd better cut off my internet connection too! Gwan I dare y. . .

There's a real world out there

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,698 ✭✭✭Dinter

Yes but it's cold and probably wet and filled with people who'd love to pound my pasty faced, atrophied, nerd self into mush.

They're just annoyed that I'd easily kill them all on World of Warcraft where my level 17 Long Sword is a real knee trembler. Maybe I should buy a gun?

There was an issue in PI not so long ago about someone that was concerned about an addiction to the net, video games and as a result was being anti-social etc.,.

I was stunned that the people that were suggesting advice were the ones that has thousands of posts to their name in a short period of time. As I said then, it's like if someone was going to AA for alcohol addiction and the people giving advice were taking a swig of booze between each breathe.

So indeed I wonder about the state of some people's mind and life that are on here.

I say it because people like giving their own opinions and think people listen to and respect what they have to say on here:rolleyes:

I'm sure we can find a bigger loser than you on here, though.

Come on people, don't be shy.

This place is great for news, Entertainment, information and a great place to get things off your mind.

But its all about balancing it around your social life, Job and education...but some people manage to get onto boards during work. :D

I have a look on boards almost every day, it keeps me informed about pretty much everything, is a great source of support with problems and AH is always entertaining. I post a few replies most days but wouldn't spend more than an hour on here.

I know one of them. His name is Tara Le D'arion. They keep him locked in a room 24/7 and generate electricity off his keystrokes

I think I'm developing a genuine addiction to Boards. I reckon my post count has gone up by 550 in the past 2 months alone. That's triple what I posted in my first year O_o

(vote me for President :D )
