I get the train from Coolmine to Maynooth and am relatively new to this, since I used to always go on buses.
I've decided to use the train to go the town also, so I got a Connolly - Maynooth weekly Return and it was about €25
Is there possibyl a cheaper ticket I can get? The lady in the ticket booth was not the most helpful to me >.<

Well a weekly from Coolmine to Connolly is €17.40 as is a weekly from Coolmine to Maynooth, which is €34.80 in total seperately so €25 for Connolly to Maynooth would be pretty fair.

You'll just have to measure up how often you go into town and see if it's worth it compared to buying a return ticket from coolmine to connolly on the days you're in town.

Student traveller card is for buses and trains and only 18 euro weekly or thereabouts.

Go down the buses and train card route. Cause it's just so handy. Wish I was still a student :(

Or you can just catch the bus that can drive on the train tracks, see here for the CIE promo video.
