Foot pain

    Hi,

I did the half marathon and was fine during it, but that evening I had pain in my foot. Years ago I had a fracture in the same place but have never had any trouble since. So I stayed off it alll ast week, didn't go running, put ice on it etc and it felt better by Saturday. I went for a run last night, very short, about 2 miles and felt it a bit during it but this morning it's really sore when walking. It's on the base of my foot and sort of around the ankle and this morning it's even a bit higher up, but there's no swelling and to touch it there's no pain, only when I walk.

    Suggestions ?

I've never been to phyysio or anything so am new to injuries but definitley wanna get it sorted. Also it is the same pain as when I fractured it years ago, only not as bad and no swelling or anything.

    Thanks

First of all I'd suggest that you go to a physio they will be able to tell you more.

Funnily enough this sounds exactly like an injury I've had in the past. Just on the outside of the sole of the foot around the ankle. In my case taking some painkillers like neurophen plus and some muscle relaxant cream from the local chemist sorted it out after a week or so.

But everyone's different, so definitely go to a physio, hopefully they'll be able to rule out if its related to the fracture or not.

    Definitely go to physio.

I had something similar earlier this year, turned out to be TDH tendon damage in my foot due to repetitive strain. Solution was rest followed by better shoe support.

    Get a scan!!

Physio's cant do very much with your foot!!

Could be an inflamed tendon, strss fracture or torn ligaments.

Actually it seems to have sorted itself out with a steady dose of a bucket and some ice water, went for a run last night and it ws nearly fine, was only a light run though so will rest it until the weekend and presume it'll be fine.
