Lightroom is basically a photo cataloging/importing/developing suite. It has a lot of the editing features of photoshop, it's a lot easier to use, it's cleaner looking. Personally I think it's fantastic, I have both cs3 and lr2 and have had no reason to touch up a photo in cs3.

    What is Lightroom? It's awesome.

It's a streamlined photo editor pretty much, it's got a fairly neat and tidy GUI, with some handy controls for editing. The editing is limited (compared to Photoshop) though so using both LR + CS3 would be regular..

I think of LR as the RAW editor from Photoshop with Bridge bolted on.

€301 including VAT from Adobe's online store. Bit on the pricey side, ain't it?

AFAIK, it's significantly cheaper in the states, I think about $199 (€135 or thereabouts). I have some relatives going there in a couple of weeks, think I'll get them to pick it up for me.

Some people may qualify for the education version of Lightroom, worth checking anyway.
