That is utterly perposterous! This is quackry of the most obscene order and its proponants are liars and swindlers who don't care about anying but taking desperate or stupid people's money.

All the disorders mentioned in the title are neurological problems which have no treatment recognised by medical science. Shame on you.

Re Orthoscopics: I have been a lifelong Migraine sufferer. I have been hospitalised with severe migraines, I have had 5 brain MRI's I have had CT scans, I have been to Neurologists, I have had all types of Migraine medication and had a bad reaction to some of them. My Migraines were in effect untreatable. I had Migraines daily for years one cluster lasted for 3 months with no relief and they always came in clusters. I had to spend many days and nights in dark rooms - rearing a large family was no joke. My daughter was at an Optician in Dundrum in Dublin who knew of my severe Migraine problems and how it was affecting my life. She referred me to Orthoscopic treatment in the hope that I would get some relief. I DID. ABSOLUTELY. NOW I AM FREE OF MIGRAINES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE!!! Thanks to Orthoscopics. I have shown them to my Professor & Team in a Dublin Hospital who were treating me and quite frankly they were stunned with my recovery. So I am a Testament to the efficacy of Orthoscopic Treatment. I have my life back thanks to the coloured lenses. I will talk to anyone about them. It is not hocus pocus. It works.

Orthoscopic is a treatment using colured lenses - I am no scientist - I have family members who are... I just know it works for me. There have been TV programmes on about it eg Channel 4 I believe there was an actress from East Enders who was interviewed about Orthoscopics for her dyslexia. I did not see the prog. All I know is...I have tried all sorts of conventional medical treatments, alternatives treatments, "Quacks", healers etc etc and absolutely nothing worked. I was absolutely desperate. This is the only solution and cure that works for me. My Prof and the Team in the Hospital in Dublin are astounded by my results. They are going to write me up in a research paper as my results are so amazing. My Migraines got so bad I would pass out, my speech would be slurred like the Reporter on Grammys last year that the media thought had a stroke live on air. Migraines affected my balance I have had a broken ankle, ligaments, cut hands and knees requiring stitches. I believe that there are very few people with Migraines as bad as mine in Ireland. Now I am Migraine clear for the past two years. Now my balance is perfect. The answer for me was definitely the Orthoscopic lenses that I wear. The are a blue colour, they work for me. My Optician is in Dundrum Main St. in Dublin. I really hope this can help other Migraine sufferers.

Have had a number of students try something like this to absolutely no avail.

Why were they trying it? Was it for Migraines or Dyslexia perhaps? There are only a few Opticians pracitising Orthoscopics in Ireland that I have heard of.

Did they try real Orthoscopics or was it something else? I can tell you absolutely genuine Orthoscopics, prescribed by a Qualified Optician who is a specialist in this field of Orthoscopics will work. There are only a few Opticians in Ireland who are genuinely specialists in this field. To suggest that Opticians are part of the quack brigade is a nonsense. They are professionals who are expert in their field.

Whatever about MAYBE migraines... But how in the name of god could it cure ADHD , dyspraxia..Etc.... Seriously I would want to see a lot of valid proof before I'd even consider even thinking about trying it out.

Attention deficit hyperactive disorder.... How could it cure hyperactivity???

The Orthoscopic system consists of computerised assessment that provides an unparalleled set of tools for the OPTICIAN to determine the patient's optimum colour response. This optimum is then combined with the effects of differing illumination. With this data, lenses can be prescribed incorporating optimised colour filtering. These will minimise and often elimate the effects of visual perception difficulties.

It is different to other colour systems as it looks at how all the senses are interlinked.

It doesn't claim to cure. Take ADHD, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia there is very often a visual processing problem. That is what is being treated. A standard eye exam checks the health of the eye and if one is short or long sighted. Visual processing is different, it looks at how the brain is processing the information recieved from the eye. A regular eye exam is recommended first and if there is no precription or it is not enough on its own, then the Orthoscopic lenses are explored as a possibility.

But what about children who are auditory learners with dyslexia? How could this possibly help?Children with dyspraxia may have perception difficulties, but we have never had any success with lenses.

Orthoscopics assessment is very different to other systems.

If you are sure there is no visual element. then auditory processing is worth researching.

I remember seeing an open university program a few years ago on statistics, talking about coloured glasses.

They were able to show that some people with dyslexia, respond to certain visual gratings* in a smiler manner to those with light sensitive epilepsy. This hints that there could be an underlying bases for how coloured glasses help them to read.

Dyslexia is an umbrella term for a collection of different conditions, some of which are related to visual processing. If someone has difficulty processing visual information, it would not be suprising if they were to favor auditory learning. As there are different types and causes for dyslexia, it is not suprising that the coloured glasses work for some and not for others.

Also a person with dyspraxia may or may not have perception difficulties. It is a bit like some one saying keep your eye on the ball, to someone who has trouble catching / kicking it. Another similar one is calling some one who can't sing in tune or play an instrument, "tone deaf"; when they can hear and enjoy music fine.

Could a quack err optician PM me if they offer the colour blindness coloured lenses - I'm desperate enough to give anything ago and have a particular set of circumstances that mean these things might actually work for me. Ideally central Dublin.

DO NOT POST HERE, PM ME, I'M NOT TRYING TO HELP YOU CIRCUMVENT ANY BOARDS.IE POLICIES!
