Well as you might have seen from the Rathdrum forum, I've been trying out the SK 'Rifle Match' ammo with varying results. I would like to try the SK Match (next step up) to see what that's like for consistency. The older version: 'Match Gold' seemed to be very consistent.

Generally for competition I use Lapua Midas which I find very good. I only have a few hundred left and have experimented with Eley Match and Tenex EPS.

Both the Eley brands are very good indoors, but I've not had great results outdoors with it. Any kind of wind at all seems to adversely affect them more than the Midas which I can put into the same hole quite regularly. Having said that, the Eley stuff now has the speed of the batch printed on the box and the last stuff I had was quite fast at 1073fps, whereas the previous batch I got was 1048fps.

RWS is very hard to get here, so I've no idea what that's like.

Currently using Master for matches, and trying the SK Rifle Match out for training and such. Going to try out more Eley stuff indoors in the next match I think, and going to be making some enquiries about R50 in a short while, so we'll see how that goes.

Was using Lapua Master for years and now mostly using Eley Match.

I've found that the Eley Match is comparable to the Lapua Master outdoors but much nicer indoors.

I'm booked in to test @SK November time if all goes well , so it'll be interesting to see the results!;)
I have to say I bought 500 rounds of EPS a few weeks ago and its going to be expensive training ammo as it keeps flicking in high 8's!!

I'm using up my odd boxes at the minute and need something reliable soon!;)

That's usually a headspace issue. Tight headspace generally gives high hits on the target. Was that Match EPS or Tenex EPS?

A headspace gauge might be an idea.

Lapua Master was usually a good value training round and had very little in the way of fliers. For me, the SK equivalent is a little too inconsistent. What I liked about Lapua was the L and M grades of both Master and Midas, so you could always find one that fitted your breech fairly snugly.

    It was Tenex EPS!

Well hopefully we'll get to test both SK and Lapua while at the factory!;)

I am not going to adjust anything on the rifle until the new one arrives!;), its in the country so hopefully it'll be up and running in the next few weeks!

Tenex :(, that certainly would be expensive training ammo.

Good luck with that! Still no luck with the Unique parts? Was it a trigger you needed?

No I modified the breech with a dremmel :eek:and made an Anschutz trigger fit(kind of),although it needs a little more work to get the rear trigger screw to fit!I have'nt a spare firing pin at the mo so thats a worry!

Once I get to grips with the new rifle the Unique will be used as a back up!;)

What's the model? I'll see if I have any links that might help find one.
