Another for Kilkenny, might be no harm maybe having a meetup to get the copys and maybe go for a drink or two the lot of us, make a mini meet/event?

so whats the deal with the delivery group, does somebody order all the books the meet and get the money off everyone or does everyone pay the person and leave the order.

I know the underlying reason is the bulk discount :)

No idea yet Cabaal ThOnda may know

As stated long time ago - it is only up to you to get enough people and do it on your own. I am able to organise only few things, but not everything.

Apologies ThOnda I think you misunderstood Just wondering if you knew about the paying for the book the collection and delivery we can do

It is completely up to you - the person that is going to volunteer to get he money somehow, order the books and distribute them. It is the very same issue in all other groups. It is not simple and easy, but it is the easiest way to go. I think.
If you have not enough people, there is always way to join some other group, however still there'll be needed one person to do all mentioned above. And to collect the books from the other town/region.

We can give it a heads up nearer the time looks like we will need a get together for the group to collect money etc and have a long indepth analysis and discussion over a few pints the discussion will have to be restricted to 2 days, a Sat and Sunday :D:D:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 130 ✭✭labbad

Well that was quick we need to know how many of us are there and how we are going to organise money collection etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,204 ✭✭✭kensutz

How about a 7-10 day deadline. Get a list of names and in the meantime draw up a plan of how to collect the money. I'm sure we can get 2/3 people based in various areas to collect the money and then sort out our orders.

Excellent suggestion kensutz is 7 days enough time I'd be inclined to go for 7 would love to have it done and sorted.
You going to the W.C.C. meeting tonight it's a pity I can't go we could sort something out.
    Brendan

I think 7 would be more then enough time. If we get enough people from Kilkenny and Wexford we'll have enough to bulk order. I was at the W.C.C. meeting. Don't know if I saw you there before, still coming to terms with who's who.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 130 ✭✭labbad

No wasn't able to go tonight, haven't been to a meeting yet, a newbie still Whats next do we wait for people to contact this thread or do we
    e-mail them.

We have about 6-8 people interested so far. I think maybe a post into the general book thread to see if anyone wants to join up to the delivery group and bump the numbers. I'm working on something at the mo so my hands are tied for a little while.

Did that and left a message in the Cork group also they are short of people as well we need commitment at this stage

Thanks Morrisseeee could do with a few more no arrangements yet but hopefully within the next week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 130 ✭✭labbad

If we order 10 or more together we save ourselves 10% which for the soft cover amounts to about €2.80 and as we have around 8 at the moment we need a few more to make it worth while so any suggestions additions etc would be appreciated. Might be no harm to check my figures unless i'm wrong it may not be worth while.

What about the Cork group, I see you left a message there, but should they be contacted by PM ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,878 ✭✭✭whyulittle

If you get 10 books for this group, PM ThOnda or myself before ordering. The discount is only available to the book creator.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 130 ✭✭labbad

Thanks whyulittle but the response is anything but encourageing

I'm curious, who out of the people on this thread have already ordered trhere own book?

If we all have why not just do a mini meet, few drinks etc and have a chat about the book we already have, seems less work given the lack of numbers :)
