Jesus just up from watching the fight last night , fair play to suger shane he pulled it out of the bag but , i think his best days are behind him , i thought mayorca dominated him , and to be honest i dont think shane has much left to offer , although it was a fanstastic knock out, he really has got very slow and as said before i think time has got up with him

I cheered del la hoya on when he kicked mayorca ass , as i dont really like mayorca but to be fair he if is didnt coast the last 2 rounds and take his eye of the ball he would of won that fight , he was simply awful

even Jim watt said , its was like a different shane mosely in there , he brought nothing to the table

anyway to be fair shane won ,he did not deserve it but fair play he knocked him out and deserves the pundits i was a second away from collecting in the bookies lol

I thought Mayorca fought a great fights , at the start and in the middle rounds his game plan worked to perfection but the last 3 rounds was typical mayorca just lose your head and lose the fight

anyway enjoyed it , and glad the ending woke me up , i didnt expect that type of ending wonderful

I'm still baffled how everyone had moseley winning this match. I had mosely losing in the 5th another guy had him losing to points.

Who had mosley winning? apart from him.

the ko was class, mosley was out of his depth strenght wise but done well to stick it out, mayorga was very sloppy and was not easy on the eye!

im glad mosley won as he is the classier of the 2 in and out of the ring, back down the weight for mosley now, it has to be..

HBO had this 8-3 Mosley going into the 12th, which i cant see, their love of Mosley and anything Golden Boy is sickening,

I don't see him lasting 8 rounds with Margarito if this proposed fight does take place.
it was unbelieveable listening to the sycophant hbo commentators last night- it reminded me of what cowzerp said about many people being swayed by what commentators say even though looking with your own eyes you see they are completely wrong in their analysis.

I was delighted to see mosley pull it out of the bag, but there was no way he was ahead. I think mayorga rocked him in the very first round and i thought mosley never really settled into the fight after that.

Well it wasnt just HBO that had Mosley winning it going into the last round.

The associated press journalists had Mosley winning also , along with HBO, and most importantly , the judges score cards had Mosley ahead going into that final round.

If you think about it ,....... it was actually just Sky Sports and their viewers were the only one's that had Mayorga winning !!!!

Mosley disappointed last night ,... we'll all agree, but Mayorga didnt shine either ! he just fought an old Shane Mosley that hasnt got the ability of old.

I watched it on a very poor quality small screen so my views can probably be taken with a pinch of salt but I had Mosley 7-3 up going into the last. Same scorecard as Harold Lederman except I gave the first to Mosley and the 3rd to Mayorga. Which I think gives me the same card as Larry Merchant.

However as said I was watching on a small screen in poor quality so to assess it properly I have to watch in better quality on full screen.

Yeah, whats all this about he pulled it out of the bag?
He was in front according to me as well. I thought he did enough going into the last round without looking spectacular. Great finish though. Great to see Mayorga flattened.

It was certainly close enough on the cards, but I think Mosley was winning. Mayorga showed his heart though, and he's a lot better than people give him credit for. I was in stiches watching him for most of the fight, he's a real comedian. Standing on the ropes cheering after the rounds and celebrating as if he won the lottery was just hiilarious. He just has a very funny face and demenour

My fav mayorga moment was when DLH dropped him with a good right and a solid left hook. They both looked at each other as Mayorga was on the ground and Mayorga was looking at him like, "Whats going on??" :D:D:D:D

i thought mosley was 3 or so rd's down, but mayorga was sloppy so maybe was not been scored some rd's that he done most of the work-i just felt that mosley done very little and scraped through the eight?

Ive said it in here half a dozen times before ,....... " its a pity you cant turn the volume up , whilst turning Jim Watt down"

He's taken as gospel by people watching,.. the most opinionated commentator on TV today !
He forms an opinion by the 2nd or 3rd round and drills it into the viewers head for the next 10 rounds.
Soon enough people start to believe it !

    Actually ,... he's the 2nd most opinionated,.... Andy Gray is #1 !!!
Followers who cant decide on something tend to blindly follow this fool. Taken as "Bible" by sky viewers.

Back to Mosley,....... Ive carefully watched and studied Mosley for years ,... my all-time favourite fighter.
And despite winning on my card , he definately hasnt got the edge , the advantage he always had over others.

Straight away I seen it , he wasnt light and bouncing on his feet . He carried a frown on his face for 4 or 5 rounds , that i have never seen before in Shane.

He has declined a lot since the Cotto fight. . and things wont get any better.
You know , he never really made it at 154lbs like he could at any of the lower divisions.
Unfortunately his body wont allow him to be comfortable at 147 anymore.
He's in a real struggle to get anywhere under 152lbs , and it should be time to hang up the gloves and admire his legacy !

Ive hoped and prayed for a Margarito bout for Shane, but now Im not too sure...

Happy for Shane to get the W, but I can foresee a Dela V Mosley rematch in the future after that fight.

    Dela UD.

Mosely looked clumsy, jerkey, nervous and afraid. He looked like a COMPLETELY different fighter apart from the 6th round and the last 2 seconds of the 12th. Ill check the pole but I think I had Mosely winning by KO mid rounds. I knew from the first 10 seconds that wouldnt be the case and he would be extremely lucky to win. Which he was.

What a win for him though, and what a shot, it just goes to show...its never over till its over!!!

He looked like a fighter whose best days are behind him. His reactions are slower and he just doesn't seem to have the stamina for 12 rounds of boxing anymore.

Forget about Jim Watt, please !!!

Here's my HBO coverage of round 12 , and compare it to what you see from Sky's coverage of round 12.

2 different viewers will see 2 different fights although they both watch the same thing !

    not true,

Tony Crebs 102-107 Mosley Pat Russell 105-104 Mayorga Nelson Vazquez 104-105 Mosley

also i did not see the sky coverage,

its not surprising HBO had Mosley ahead, they always root for the house fighter, thats pretty well known,

    a line from Jim Lampley

"And to prove that anything is possible, one judge actually had MAYORGA UP on the cards!

it wasnt a one sided fight IMO,

when i have time i will watch it again, maybe i will see things differently,

like you say Mayorga fought an old Mosley, true but Mosley also fought an old shot Mayorga who hasnt been the same since Trinidad,

would have been a much better and more meaningful fight 4/5 years ago

    ok,.... good point !
1 judge had Mayorga up by a point, but Mosley would have had a 10-8 round if it had of gone the distance leaving all 3 judges with U/Decision.

As i said, it was close fight and I wouldnt like to see Shane against a stiffer opponent.

It would have been a fairy-tale ending for Shane if it were to be his final fight.
Id actually like to see mayorga v margarito, just for the slugfest.

looks like serious talks are being had for Margarito-Mosely.
After last weeks performance I dont give Mosely a chance. Margarito will keep the pressure on him. If he could turn the clock back even a year then yeah, good fight, but if thats all he has left and performs like that against Margo then he should hang em up or at the very most fight someone a level or two below a shot Mayorga.

Well , if Shane can pull this one off then he surely must go down as one of the best P4P fighters yet.
Marg is beatable and one dimensional , but his attributes make up for that one dimensional aspect of his game.

ive changed my mind ,.... Im looking forward to a 38 y-old Mosley taking on the freight train that is Tony Margarito.

Tony may just look past Mosley , as the big pay-deal will be set on the Cotto rematch next June.
the only thing is , I presume its going to be @ 154 lbs if it does happen and what type of power will Margarito posess at that weight ?

Shane will box , but if he will trade it out when he's challanged.

Im going to predict an upset , purely because Im a biased Shane Mosley obsessed fanatic :o
