Great day today and couldn't have had better conditions. Once again congrats to Cork masters for a superb event (though no t-shirts!!!;))

As a relative beginner to OW swims I found it tough enough in terms of the sighting around the island but great experience.

If you're in Cork, come down and swim with the group a few times (tonight and tomorrow night the swims are at 6pm). There are always a few people going out and you soon become an expert at sighting around the island.

Some people swim there daily. I'm hoping to get out there a couple of times this week. There is a text list you can get added to and they will send you the swim times each month. if you pm me your mobile number I'll get you added. Someone may ask you for a fiver at some stage to cover the costs of the texts (1 a month) but noone has ever asked me yet.

Attached is the swim calendar for 2008. Days are getting shorter now so it will mostly be weekend swims but there are swims most days during the summer.

There is also a sandycove google groups list. Plenty of talk about all things open water swimming there.
