I have decide to turn my old laptop ( a well capable machine for the job) into a HTPC but am undecided about software.I am looking for a package which would allow me to browse my dvd iso's in its menu system and the mount and play them automatically. Any advice would be much appreciated

media portal + deamon tools will auto mount any iso in your vids folder that you choose. you can configure it in the mp config.

Is there any way to do this in Vista Media Center? I currently use VLC for iso files but it would be great to integrate this functionality into the VMC UI.

i'm using 'My Movies' plugin: http://www.mymovies.dk/

Like Mp it launches deamon tools to mount the iso image and autoplay it in media center.

Or Open Media Library, currently in beta release. Really looks to have potential though !
