What way to go with my horse ?

    Hi All,

I would appreciate anyones viewpoint on the direction I should go with my horse. I will attempt to offer as much info as possible without identifying people.

He is a 5 year (average pedigree) who had one run in the spring in a decent bumber and finished 4th by 8 lenghts. He wasn't 100% fit and didn't have a schooling bumper prior. His run showed alot of promise.
He was a weak horse and has come on for the summer break really well.
My view on it was that he will be a much stronger horse this season and should train on well. I have him in training in England now and the trainer likes him alot.
I intend to sell him on within the next 6 months.

I have to make a decsion along these lines,

Option 1. Have him primed for a bumper and go to win first time out. then head on over hurdles.

Option 2. Go straight over hurdles with a few quite runs to hanicap him

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Considering you have a view to selling him, option 1 would appear to be the most sensible imo

Definately do what New Approach says. If he was only beaten by 8 lenghts in a bumper when not ready, he should be good enough to win one in England.
Good luck with him. Too many risks regarding injuries when spending too much time handicapping anyway.

I think a lot would depend who you have him in training with.

Eg, if you have him with a small trainer and you manage to win a bumper, then you will get offers from the bigger trainers/owners in England as they would think they could do better with him. Of course he has to show some potential for this to happen.

If you have him with one of the bigger trainers, then I would let him be and hope to go as far as possible with him.

Basically if you can sell him for a nice profit then I would recommend you do so and maybe reinvest.

    Best of luck.

    Folks,

this is really not a site for selling/syndicating horses.

The charter is fairly clear on what this forum is about. I have made an exception for rynners horse. This is not the rule.
