    hi,
I bought the following rig last year from OCUK:

    GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
    Lian-Li PC-A17A Aluminium Midi-Tower Case
Samsung SH-183LBEBN 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer Serial ATA Lightscribe ReWriter (Black) - OEM
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775)
    OcUK GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
OCZ StealthXStream 600w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply
    Samsung SpinPoint T HD501LJ 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

The rig is too noisy. I think its a combination of the PSU and heatsink fan.
Any suggestions on quietening this rig down?

Replace the PSU with a corsair or a seasonic psu.
Replace all 120mm fans with scythe flex fans.

CPU cooler should be fairly quiet, do you have any fan throttling enabled in the bios?

Replace the cooler on your gfx card with a quieter aftermarket cooler.
Fit foam noise dampening material to the inside of your case.

Thats all you can do really do apart from going water cooling.

It really depends what the source of the noise is.
