Trophies = pile of arse

    So I fired up Uncharted for the first time since January the other day, updated it and was a little baffled that I couldn't continue my old game. Seeing as my completed save is still on the PS3 and seems to be fine, I'm guessing that the recent trophy update has screwed up old savegames? None of the rewards I'd unlocked before have been saved as well, which was the major pisser for me.

    Updated Burnout Paradise yesterday and surprise surprise retroactive achievements weren't possible despite what Criterion had previously said. Deleted my old save game and played for a while. Every time I unlock an achievement a medal, I get a message that I've unlocked a reward, and at the same time get a message that I've unlocked a trophy. Which looks pretty damn crap tbh.

    Seriously Sony, if you're going to copy someone, at least try to better them in some way...:rolleyes:
    I guess it'll be a nice feature moving forwards, but they seem to have really cocked this up with existing games (I guess the devs are more to blame for that though)

    It's not really Sony's fault that Trophies and ingame unlockable rewards are the same, but the devs who just seem to be bit too lazy to actually think of some new trophies so they just copied what they already had. Sony just provided the tool, the way the devs use the tool is out of Sony's hands (and as you prolly noticed quite a few devs are not arsed with Trophies at all even for the new games, which is a pity).

    The Trophy update shouldent of messed up your older savegames, all mine were fine, it is kinda annoying the trophys are not retroactive, but uncharted is good enough to play through again and get them all, which is what I did.

    Its to stop cheating of trophies. If a game was released with the ability to copy your gamesave to another console and trophy patch released, you would do like on 360 and download all gamesaves and have much trophy score.

    Uncharted & Burnout were released with unlocked gamesaves so when trophy patch was released, the new locked gamesave was required.

    I think the trophies are good for people who buy the game and want to eek out some extra life from them. Personally I don't really care about them that much but its still nice to see the little trophy icon appear.

    lol, some of the trophies in wipeout are ridiculous, I ran into a line of mines and destroyed my craft, then I got a trophy for getting destroyed in a race? wth?

    I think the system of looking at your trophies and comparing them should be better. I'd like to be able to compare my trophies with all of the people in my friends list, not just 1 at a time.
