Well, i was inquiring about a graduate program postion in a company here in AUS and their take on the situation as regards being eligible to apply is as follows...

"You must have a legal right to work in Australia. That is, you need to be an Australian citizen or hold a visa which allows you to work in Australia permanently. Unfortunately we will not accept applications from candidates who are unable to work in Australia.''

They don't mention which visa specifically I need, Would the 457 visa be the most suitable one, or do they have to be part of that applicaion process for that one?

Anyone else applied for a graduate program position in AUS and if so, how did they go about it?

    Regards
    CM

You can only get a 457 when a company sponsors you. Job first than visa.
Key word in this ad is permanently. Means either citizenship or permanent residency.

You are on a 457 yes?
TBH, there are likely to be few companies who will hire and sponsor you without experience unless you are in one of the really high demand/shortage areas. Whats your degree
