Can someone quickly clear this up for me?

Just got Pharmacy today on the 3rd round of CAO so I wasn't expecting to be going to Trinity and have no orientation pack(or sesne) so I have no idea when Pharmacy is starting?! Also do I have to go to all of freshers week (29th onwards) to register for clubs or can I do it when i register for Pharmacy on day X ?

Quick Q- Pharmacy orientation is on wed and registration is on fri, I obviously need to go to them. On Mon at 2-3 there's a course specific meeting for Pharmacy? Is that compulsory/necessary? Same goes for the Sports and Library tours?

Ahh I wish I was educated on these matters.

Hey, first off, congrats on the late offer!

I had a little look around the orientation site but couldn't find any meeting for Pharmacy on the Monday, could only see the orientation/course specific meeting on the Wednesday. It's best to try and make it along to this, you'll get a chance to meet your class and some of the staff in the school of Pharmacy, as well get a feeling for what the course content is like.

Registration is essential (late fees and the like if you miss it) so make sure to go to that. The library and sports tours aren't compulsory so if you're going to be around it's nice to see what the facilities are like but don't worry if it doesn't suit or whatever.

You can join clubs and societies all day, every day (well, until 4pm I think) during the week, there'll be loads of stands set up in Front Square so you can't miss them.

If you've any other pharmacy related questions or anything feel free to drop me a PM.

    Hey!

Thanks very much that's all very beneficial! Sorts it all out in my mind!

Under the General Orientation meetings faculty of health sciences it says Monday 29th from 2-3pm for TR072 (Pharmacy) and that's what has me wondering?!!?

Ah, must have missed that, damn lack of attentiveness!

I'm not quite sure what that meeting is for. I'm thinking it might be what previously was the faculty meeting at which a general "Welcome to Trinity" talk was given to everyone in the faculty jammed into one lecture hall (all be it, a very large one). There isn't much, if anything, specific to any one course mentioned at it though.

EDIT: All the rest of the Health Sciences faculty have it scheduled for the same time and place so that must be it.

Hey, that meeting on monday is a general meeting for all Health Sciences (Medicine, pharmacy, dentistry etc). It's pretty boring and not very informative so if you're not feeling the best or are tired you could skip it. The pharmacy meeting on Wednesday is worthwhile though. You'll learn about the course, meet the lecturers, tour the building, learn about the pharmacy society (DUPSA). So that would be a good day to go round the stands in Front Square. Your lectures will begin on the Monday the next week.

I'm a 3rd year in pharmacy so PM me if you have any more questions.

Here is all the info about the Pharmacy meeting:

Thanks! I'm feeling less un-educated about the whole freshers week thing now! Still could have done with getting Pharmacy on round one and not currently being Orientation pack-less:p!

Just struck me there I actually cant wait to go up and start! Now if only I can make the golf team....:)...that's for a different forum methinks!

Feels like I'm entering into a prestigious-history laden like place that I have no right to go to:D

Haha, well done on getting in anyways. You'll enjoy yourself a lot. Join plenty societies especially DUPSA, the pharmacy soc. It's great to get to know the other pharmacy years. They'll be a great help to you. Enjoy freshers week.

Just rang the fees office and asked when my bank giro would be sent out as and they said it mightn't get here before Friday and in that case I wont be able to register??

I sure am in Limbo because I'm supposed to be getting the bus up this afternoon and now it looks like I don't/cant go up this week?

I have my pharmacy talk at half 9 tomorrow and I assume I can still go to that?

First of all, you can definitely still go along to your talk tomorrow morning!

Regarding the fees, I don't know if it would be possible but you could ask them if it would be possible to collect the bank giro from the Fees Office directly when you get up to Dublin. It might be worth giving them a call to see if that would be ok.

Hmmm...They said that nothing will be sent out to them until the closing date for 3rd round offers (tomorrow) and that they might have my bank giro on thursday/friday and I can collect it then if its there on friday and pay. If not I have to register next week which she said doesn't matter..just an extra bit of hassle!

Now Ive got most of wednesday, all of thursday and friday free.....*mind wanders to thougths of nearest bar*
