Carzone no longer user friendly

As a regular user of carzone, for basically car perving!!! has anyone noticed since yesterday that it has been altered again, with you no longer being able to search by range or class of car. so a quick search for say all bmw 330's now you have to look at all 3 series bmw's or use the keyword search which is crap. basically it's been turned into auto trader. totally un user friendly. It's gone a bit crap to be honest. does anyone know any reason for this.

That's because Autotrader own carzone now!
I have to agree though, it's gone downhill since it was revamped a few months ago. Instead of bringing autotrader up to the standard that carzone used to be , they are bringing carzone down to autotraders below par standard.

Bring back the original Carzone!

I think it's still the same, the search is still more or less the same...

You can do a detailed search for any car you want....OP your not searching correctly if your bringing up 318's if you want 325's

Detailed search is the only way to go....

it actualy isn't all the 325s, it is only all the ones starting with '3 series' in the title, all the ones that don't are missing. Before the change there were at least 20 2007 325s and 10 2008s now there are only 5 2007 and no 08s for example

Would imagine a lot of garages are very pissed off with the change as their cars aren't being seen unless they retitle their ads.


They also seem to have borked their database, eg:

shows 167 added 3 series BMW in the last 7 days. Click on it and it tells you there are none, same for all results.

defo prefer older version - also carzone seems worst than other for scammers/canvassers ect ect - loads prev threads on it

sorry dunkenmonkey, its not the same at all. you cant just bring up a list of 330's or E200's or so forth, plus as another poster said, loads of cars are missing from a detailed searched. As it doesnt pick up so many things. No its gone crap, totally crap. It's a real shame.

Use the advanced search and narrow down the search by engine size. It won't be 100% acurate but it is better than looking through all cars in the range.

I agree it's not quite as user friendly as before but, what's wrong with the keyword search? I've just been searching for 540 BMW's (I can dream ) and had no issues.

I also noticed that when you select the "Used Cars added recently" tab and then select a make and model for a particular year, most times it goes straight to an ad with no picture rather than a list of models for that particular year. You have to try this a few times before it works properly. Their search function or database definately seems to be on the blink.

Definately the quality of service has dropped in the last couple of months, I hope this is not the trend as the site was pretty useful even if your not in the market for a new motor.

might i also add that, when selling a car, Carzone would leave it online for you until it was sold. For 30 squids, you got your car advertised indefinitely. Now, you get 4 weeks. Big difference. Before I was paying for a car to be up there until it was sold, now I'm paying for it to be up for a week.

Time to start looking for alternatives me thinks...
