Canon 24-70 L 2.8 focus ...

    See when you view this in full res. it looks a bit soft around the edges (anywhere of centre) of the stones .. the center of the stones is clear ..
    but around the edges is off ... I know its very wide (f2.8) but
    looks more like f1.4 ... is there a problem ?

    and how do you fully test your lens .. im getting paranoid since i found out
    some lenses (even L) can be botchy ..

    edit -- actually it's fine ...

    I was going to link you this, you can see how tiny the dof is at 2.8 and 68 mm (what the exif says the pic was at).

    Btw I agree with your edit it seems fine to me as well, and it is also a good shot I love the colour in it.

    It just looks like the short DOF to me - You can see the clarity in the OOF areas, which suggests it's not a softness problem, do you've any other examples?

    ill post some more up soon ... but i think its fine i was looking at the pic too closely and the softness looked bigger then it was ...
