Is anyone else having problems getting all the tests etc done in time for registation, and sending the forms to the right place? I've been told i might not be able to register... :(

Would these be tests demonstrating immunity/vaccination to Hepatitis B? Who told you you might not be able to register? I suspect as a 1st year with no patient contact until at least 3rd year, you will have no problem registering for this year.
Try contacting your named tutor if already provided for advice, or just walk to the Health Science Office and ask one of the ladies working there.

Thanks, no its the tb test. i called admissions, they told me i couldnt register without having it, and tcd clinic told me they wouldnt see me until im registered! ive made an appointment, but it means i will get the results the day before, or the day of registration. What happens if they don't let me register?

Don't worry about getting it done before your allocated time for registration. You have until about the 20th of Oct to register. I remember last year I didn't get offered my course until about now, and then I had to wait for the forms, and then my doctor sent them to the wrong place twice. I still managed to register the day before the last day.

If you don't have everything needed to register don't worry. The only problem is that some lecturers email out lecture notes and you won't be able to log in to access them, or to use college computers. Other than that you can still go to lectures and tutorials while you wait for results to come in. When they come, they're usually sent to the school of medicine office, at which point a doctor has to sign it, and then they'll ring you so you can register.

For me, when the results were sent to the school of medicine, there was NO DOCTOR AVAILABLE to sign them so I had to wait an extra day. (imagine no doctor available in the school of medicine :o) Don't worry about it anyway, there'll be loads of students in the same boat for the first few weeks, and lecturers will understand this, as it's the same story every year.

    *sigh of relief*

Thanks for that. I'm still running around like a headless chicken trying to sort stuff out, but at least i know now im not completely up the creek.

(Btw, do blood tests have to be carried out at St. James?)

You can get your viral screen and hepatits screen taken by your local GP. You can then submit your results to the relevant student/occupational health service.
