at 5pm, they're pretty good, well worth checking out. It's Aaron North's new band and the QOTSA member is bassist Mike Shuman, also in Wires on Fire.

Interview with Aaron about the band here

There should be a Jubilee thread somewhere around here that I started. Was going to add this little gem to it. Cant wait to see them..and now its twice:D

Woohoo...most likely in some form of QOTSA gear:o

Friends who've seen them already around England said they were very good and like to hang round a bit, so that'll be sweet.

I was in the shop when I found out. Bit annoying as now I've wasted most my day.

I went into Tower as well only to find out the same. At least the gig was feckin' deggley :D

    deggley is an understatement.

Aaron North is a genius, wish he'd never left the Ickies tho.

For some reason boards wouldnt load for me yesterday - i tried to come on and inform people.

The gig rocked hard. I was very impressed with the quality of music they put out. A very strong set for such a new band(new for a band like them). I really liked the first song

did anyone catch the name of the band that supported them? The vox were a bit.. im not going to say annoying or bad.. just off in a way.. But the music from them was great too!

Support act were called Les Gars

Did enjoy Jubilee alot but I thought they really suffered when it came to the vocals. Musically there was some excellent stuff especially when it came to the drums and bass.

I agree with red_ice that the first song was excellent. Very brave to open with such a slow burner.

PS Was glad to see a few more people arrive...when I got there just after 8 there was about 8 people in the place...very weird feeling

Yea, i forgot to say that myself. The vocals were pretty weak, Aaron North was Flat/Sharp for anytime they had to do a harmony. I thought mikey shoes was spot on tho myself - i thought he was a great (modest) frontman. I totally agree with you, the drums and bass made the band what they were. Great tone in the bass, and mikey is a very tallented musican. I thought the use of distortion/wah etc was very tasteful aswell throughout the band. I personally think that they would be alot better as a 3 piece without aaron north, i felt he didnt really bring much to the table other than the songs he was singing on his own, which were great... but musically he didnt do much for me.

I was there myself at 8 with my gf. I like to get in early and see what gear the band is using :) I was wondering if it was gonna pack out myself as i heard that they didnt sell out.. but the tickets were moving. A grand number i rekon, for a band whos not really in the limelight.

Was an excellent gig, loved the songs I didnt know. Album coming soon:D Got the vinyl thing, now I just need to ship out my record player for it. Also have it signed by them all.

Delighted with the crowd size, I honestly thought only 30 people would be there...if even! Good night though, hung round with them for ages. They stayed in Ballymun too!
