How do eircom/bt charge for calls made from a landline to 076 voip numbers? If you have a package with eircom are calls to 076 numbers treated like ordinary landline numbers?

For eircom, according to http://www.eircom.ie/About/Activities/Sn1_pt2.pdf they charge the same as local call rate but whether or not they include VoIP numbers in call packages I don't know

We have BT plus or whatever it is at home and that allows free calls to 076 numbers.

Eircom charge extra for VOIP numbers if you have a package.
While VOIP numbers considered national numbers according to their own schedule of rates, they charge separately for VOIP numbers.
They are listed under “eircom Talktime Excluded Calls” on http://www.eircom.ie/bveircom/pdf/tt_tcs.pdf as are national call 0818.
It's a bit of a ripoff really by Eircom:
You sign up for a talktime package and are told at the time that all national numbers are included only to find when you get your bill that it is only certain national numbers are included. It's sneaky from Eircom but what do you expect?? I'm sure they'll argue that they are not national calls but everyone knows they cost less to carry.

Thanks 'thecivvie' for the heads up on the BT option including 076 as a national call. Anyone know about Perlico? I'm switching asap

The 076 calls are excluded from the BT packages.

    From the BT pricing page:

Please note that non-geographic numbers are not included in Broadband & Total Talk, Talk Plus and Talk A Lot packages.

That is news to me, must be a recent change as my wife has never been charged for calling me

That list of rates became effective at the end of June. Kind of a bummer as it renders the 076 numbers useless for a lot of us.
