Ok, we all know the SNES kicked major tush, and we all know the greatest games for it. But what are some of the greatest unknown, under the radar games? What game are you positive the average SNES gamer has never even heard of that is actually fun to play?

Please try to refrain from listing Japanese-only games.

Really loved this game Super Aleste

It was one of those games that was never big, but your parents bought it for you and you had to play it! Still play it for nostalgia!

Super Aleste was good but Axelay blows it away. Pity it never got a sequel.

You really shouldn't just limit yourself to games that weren't japan only. Loads of the best games never make it out over here and as long as story isn't important they are perfectly playable.

Those games look interesting, they remind me of Life Force on the NES. I'm not a big fan of the airplane shoot-em-ups, though. How bout platformers/adventure games?

And if you have a really great Japaneese game, feel free to put it down, I just get frustrated when I can't read anything, although I know for some games you can get translator patches....

I've been up all night playing megaman 9 and I could be here all night listing great snes game. I'll get back to it during the weekend :)

Axelay was actually by the same team that did lifeforce (still one of my favourite games ever) and who later went on to form treasure and perfect the genre with radiant silvergun, gradius V and ikaruga. Nice pedigree :)

well, if your wanting to know about Unknown games, there was a snes army game specifically for the US army, and a special diabetic's game.

but if you want to know for good uknown games

    Japan
Rendering ranger R2 *guys behind the legendary Turrican game- also was on par with Treasure standards.

you want Platformers, well i mean the snes there is a platformer around every bend, there are hundreds like Alladdin, man capcom knew how to make a movie title, one of the best movie titles, got it on gba aswell.

Yeah Aladdin was one of the best Disney movie-made-into-games ever. Also Toy Story 2 for the 64 was pretty schweet.

    SIDE NOTE:

    Good Unknown 64 Games:
    Duck Dodgers starring Daffy Duck
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (Friggin AWESOME platformer, short though)
Goemon's Great Adventure (Hard as balls)
    Chameleon Twist
    Chameleon Twist 2

    Good Unknown Gamecube Games:
    PK Duck
    Bomberman Generation
    Bomberman Jetters

Loved Mystical Ninja for the snes. I bought a boxed copy on ebay a few years ago actually. Must play through it again.

Great import we played when we were kids was Rushing Beat. Side scrolling beat em up.

Also a wrestling game called Dirty Challenger. To this day, I still haven't a clue how the controls work.

Spectre was a fairly obscure title iirc.
Singleplayer mode was a pile of ****, but multiplayer was decent craic...
