Hey all, thanks in advance for ya help.

My prblem is this, I live in a house with 4 other colegemates, and I am in charge of the Internet billz and such.

I have a belkin router, model F5D7235-4, and want to know if there is any way of limiting their speeds or bandwith, as they keep using torrents during the day and it messes with my speeds.

I dont wanna just cut them off (i can easily do so) cause I have to live with them.

Google "traffic shaping" and various router manufactures. Your current router doesn't support it (according to the manual), but some routers do. The idea behind it is to limit the bandwidth from your router.

The program that dubfir linked to seem to only work on your PC, whilst you seem to wish to control the traffic that goes to other peoples PCs. I did a quick google myself, and found that the Linksys WET200 is meant to be able to do this, but it didn't really say how. Think the WET200 costs around the €115 mark, though.

alternatively you could identify and block the ports that their torrents need to operate at for certain periods of the day, if not permanently. it was done in my apartment block a few years ago.
