    Any Given Sunday
    Remember the Titans
    Varsity Blues

They were all decent. Are there any other ones worth while watching?

    A decent list here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:American_football_films

Remember the Titans and Any Given Sunday you've already mentioned OP, are favourites of mine.

I second Malmedicine's pick of Friday Night Lights - fantastic film.

Also have a soft spot for The Waterboy :)

It's actually amazing how many good american football films there are aren't there? I mean considering most of us prob have 0 interest in the sport itself.

any given sunday is one of my favourite films and the likes of Invincible/remember the titans/varsity blues are also decent.

On topic, There's a film with the rock that was out last couple of years about him coaching a prison team in football that was very good also. the name escapes me but just IMDB his films and it will be there. I'd recomend that! its a true story too I believe

Edit: I just thought of it there it's called gridiron gang

Any given Sunday - Class imo
Varsity Blues & The replacements - Bit of fun
Friday Night Lights - Great show
Remember the Titans - Disney managed to deal pretty well with the Race issue in the movie while keeping it aimed at a younger audience.

I would really recommend AGS and FNL though.

+1 to Friday Night Lights, it is pretty class.

I'm also a fan of the slightly more "Hollywood mainstream" pick "The replacements" with Keanu Reeves.

Yes, its slightly more predictable and maybe not as ambitious as the others here, and no one is going to be getting an oscar, but its a pretty straighforward feel-good romp. Kind of like the bud light version of the aforementioned movies here.

And everyone like bud light, right??

Rudy's another good one. Forget it Rudy you're too small!

I simply cannot stand Any Given Sunday, saw it in the theatre and it sucked, gave it a chance on DVD and it sucked, it has one more chance left before i burn the ****ing thing.

Remember the Titans is a seriously good movie though.

Invincible with Mark Wahlberg was pretty good for what it was, i saw it on a plane so my boredom could have greatly overrated it though.

All the Right moves is a bit of fun.
There is a brilliant one with Nick Nolte, I dont know the name though.

By and large Ive found AFL movies to be boring as fcuk.

Try and find the boxset of "Playmakers"

FX showed it when they started up first.

AFAIK it only got a 1 season run but is well worth tracking down.

The book for Friday Night Lights is brilliant, film is far less so. People who play would probably say Remember the Titans but hands up haven't seen Invincible

Having said that I'd claim this is great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYoi8suasUI
even if it does take a minute to get going and some of the tackling from the team in red in particular is embarressing
