I've searched to see if this has come up before but can't find any previous reference.
I've just come across a free image editing program called Krita.
    Its available at http://www.koffice.org/krita/ .

Its got advanced editing features , such as 16bit support and adjustments layers.

I normally use the Gimp and these two features are not supported by the Gimp and are normally among the key features which differentiate the Gimp from photoshop.

Its available for Linux and Windows.

Just wondering if anyone has used it and if so is it any good?

Don't think the community around Krita is as big as GIMP or the amount of plugins. Sticking with GIMP for time being.

Now if DigiKam was available for windows I'd jump on it. No free good DAM software on windows apart from Picassa :(
