Does anybody know what, if anything, Thomond Park was called before being Thomond Park? A friend asked me and it's driving me nuts.
(Mod, I have already posted this in the Rugby forum trying to get a fast answer)

I imagine it was just a nameless field at the edge of town. Limerick city in those day effectively ended at Hassett's X. Ballynanty houses were not built until the 50s AFAIK.

A reliable source told me that it was called Foley's field prior to Thomand Park.
