Buying or Leasing land from Coillte

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of buying or leasing land from Coillte? I don't mean leasing the shooting rights, I mean the actual land itself be it under forestry or plain old bogland. I know they will sell blocks of land in certain circumstances but I'm wondering if any shooting ground owners out there have done it. How much per acre would it fetch or how much to lease?(PM me)

I'm looking to set up a small clay shoot and Coillte are looking for silly money to buy the land and they've said they won't lease it to me. I've heard of a couple of shooting grounds that have leased land from them and I'm wondering where they are.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Would some of the paintballers be in the same boat? I'd imagine most of the forest they skirmish in is Coillte land. Maybe a Q over in their forum might yield something

know of 160 acres of prime woodland 40 minutes from Dublin that might be available - ideal for paintball - I would think clay shooting would not be a runner as there is already a commercial shoot within the area.

    Thanks lads.

The land is not the problem. I can buy it if I was stupid enough to pay their asking price. It's their refusal to lease saying that they don't do leases. I'm sure there are people out there who have leased. I'll ask the lads in Bishop's Mt when I'm down for the next shoot. If I can get proof that coillte will lease land long term for a project like this elsewhere, then I'll hit them with that.
