    Ok so i have a spare laptop a dell inspiron 1501 (the big silver one that everyone has)

    Tbh its not worth selling and i was thinking of doing something useful with it.

    Specs
    AMD dual core 1.6ghz
    1gig Ram
    120g HDD
    DVD Burner

    I also have
    NAD Amp
    Tannoy MX2 Monitors
    Sony 17" LCD

    Theres a router in the house as well anda home network has been set up.

    What i was thinking of is

    - I have some tannoy moniters can i connect these to the laptop and then with any other laptop wirelessly stream music

    -Same as above with DVD's hook the lappy to a monitor and then with another laptop through wireless play dvd's

    -home server will hook up through dns to access files anywhere.


    I was wondering is there any good way of doing this or would windows media center be any use.

    My other option was just to run XP and to use a remote desktop sort of program which should work just as well.
