As stated in my other thread tonight, I can't stay signed in to PSN for more than a few minutes. Actually, if memory serves, I've never had a problem while "in" PSN, browsing the store, downloading trailers or demos. Problem only manifests itself when there's an update needed.

    Setup is:
NTL/UPC 10meg -> Linksys WRT54G wireless router -> wireless to the PS3 about 20 feet away, accross the hall, through two open doors.

Initially I had all security disabled, made no difference so WEP is on now. Otherwise all is as per defaults. DHCP handles the IP addresses (2 other PCs on the router via cables). UPNP is off and NAT is type 2.

When I try grab an update for a game, it'll start to download and the yellow wireless light on the PS3 will go good oh for a short time, stop, flash once or twice, then that's it. Anything from 4% to 40% downloaded, on the one attempted update, not depending on file size.

Errors noted were: 8002ad23 and 80710723

Tried googling those and for every surefire solution posted, there's another two "nope, tried all that, still the same".

I'll dig out my 45' cat5 cable at the weekend but I think that will only confirm what I suspect; It's only a wireless problem.

    Can anyone offer any wisdom?

Disregard, got it sorted by fixing IP and manually entering DNS addresses.
