Ha Ha Fooled ya, you all thought this was going to be another "Big Brother" take control RFID microchip thread. :D

A well known Dublin night club called the "Bar Code" may be torn down because its owners breached planning regulations. The club and leisure centre owners have been ordered to pull down a large part of its premises after they were refused permission to retain sections of the building. I was never in the place or never even heard of it until now.

It should have been torn down for being a hovel.

    It's hardly a hovel.

It's a very modern and well designed building.

The people who tend to frequent the place on the other hand though....

Bad news about the Dracula museum... that place was awesome!

While it is a kip it's also a great way to keep 300 odd scumbags from Artane/Drumcondra/Glasnevin ect out of town at the weekend, so maybe not such great news in the long run.

Maybe they're all going to be in it when the place gets demolished.

Sales of cocaine will drop by a number of percentage points now.. and with the recession in full swing too! Did they not consider the impact on the local economy that this would bring?!?

Agreed about the clientele but I'll miss it because there are hardly any other clubs as big.

Can't believe it's been open all this time with no planning permission - chancers.

I have never been to this code of bars.

    It's on the northside right?

    Is it for youngsters?

A friend of mine, her mum owns/runs it afaik.

Ive been in both the nightclub and the Dracula museum bit, a weird mix is all i have to say.

But yes i can see the positives of it, keeps scum off the streets at times.

I feel sorry for the DJ i know who works there.

But its a complete kip. Went in recently enough, and there was nothing but annoying kids in the place.
