Anyone know of a golf club in Dublin with a big chipping green or practice hole where you can practice long chips or approach shots?

    Cheers,

The GUI academy in Carton house probably has the best selection of practice areas you'll come accross. Failing that, Grange Castle has it's spare 7 holes open for something like €9 and it's usually pretty quiet. Maybe get out of sight of the clubhouse and practice away. Just be ready to gather up all your balls quickly if somebody does come along to play.

What sort of distance are you looking to practice from btw? At Carton I'd guess 50-60 yards would be about the limit before you're in danger of catching a range ball in the nut.

    Cheers for that.

50-60 yards would be fine. Will check out Carton House.
